Invasive Ants: Biology and Smarter Management – Webinar

Dept. of PEPS, UH ManoaHawaiʻi is home to over 60 introduced ant species, including several of the world’s most damaging invaders. With this in mind, this talk explores the fascinating world of ants, from common species found in Hawai‘i, including the notorious little fire ant, yellow crazy ant, to a broader look at unique and unusual ants from around the globe. We will also discuss new strategies for managing invasive ants, with a focus on approaches such as biodegradable hydrogel baits.
